HISTORY

How our Association started

The Bullriders of America Inc. is an organization based in central Missouri that was founded in 1996 by John, Cam and Ike Hibdon to provide a quality environment for the sport of bull riding in the Midwest. It is an association “Run by Bull Riders for Bull Riders”.

The Bullriders of America sanctions bull rides primarily throughout the Midwest. Each year, their event sanctioning area expands. The BOA currently sanctions events in Arkansas, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan.

Each year, bull riders compete in front of over 120,000 fans for over $225,000 in prize money at more than 60 events throughout the Midwest. The top 25 bull riders compete for over $20,000 in cash and prizes during its Finals. The Bridge View Center and the City of Ottumwa, IA is the site of the BOA Finals and will be for several years to come!

The Bullriders of America, Inc. is governed by a Board of Directors elected from the general membership by the members of the association. Each Director serves a 2 year term.
